Mechanical Fitter / Machine and Plant Installer

Travel availability: Yes, within Italy and internationally for installations, start-ups, and commissioning at customer sites

Purpose of the role

The Mechanical Fitter / Installer assembles PRL Tecnosoft packaging machinery and plants, both at the company site and at customer locations. The role ensures correct assembly, alignment, and installation of machinery in compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Organizational relationships

Reports to: Workshop Manager / Operations Director
Supervision: Workshop Manager

Main responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly of packaging machinery and plants at the company site.
  • Install machinery and complete lines at the end customer’s premises.
  • Assemble structures, mechanical groups, transmission, and handling components.
  • Perform alignments, adjustments, and dimensional checks.
  • Work with mechanical fitters, electrical fitters, and PLC programmers during installation and start-up.
  • Support mechanical and functional testing of machinery.
  • Resolve mechanical problems during assembly or start-up.
  • Collaborate with and, when required, coordinate fitters and installers from external companies.
  • Follow company and customer safety procedures.
  • Report non-conformities and technical improvement opportunities.
  • Carry out maintenance and after-sales service activities at customer sites.

Workshop Manager; Mechanical and Electrical Fitters; Mechanical Designers.

External relationships

End customers during installations and start-up; suppliers and technical partners on site or in the workshop.

Professional requirements

Education
Technical diploma or vocational qualification in mechanics, mechatronics, or a related field.

Experience
At least 5 years of experience in the assembly of industrial machinery or automated plants. Experience in packaging, automation, or special machinery is preferred.

Technical skills

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and bills of materials.
  • Knowledge of the main mechanical machining and assembly techniques.
  • Use of measuring instruments and workshop equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics and mechanical handling systems.
  • Ability to work on site and in production environments.
  • Attention to workplace safety.

Salary range: EUR 36,000 – 45,000 gross annual salary. Compensation and benefits are defined according to seniority, skills, and responsibilities assessed during the selection process.
