Purpose of the role
The Mechanical Designer develops and industrializes the mechanical parts of PRL Tecnosoft machinery and packaging lines. The role translates technical specifications and application requirements into reliable, manufacturable, and compliant design solutions. It works with Automation, Electrical, Production, and Project Management departments to ensure the delivery of high-performance, safe machinery aligned with company standards.

Reports to: Head of Mechanical Technical Office
Supervision: Head of Mechanical Technical Office and Operations Director
Main responsibilities
- Develop complete mechanical designs for packaging machinery and modules.
- Size mechanical components, kinematic systems, handling systems, supports, and structures.
- Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings including dimensions, tolerances, materials, and finishes.
- Generate bills of materials, material lists, and production documentation.
- Analyze customer technical requirements and adapt designs to application specifications.
- Work with automation, electrical, and pneumatic teams for system integration.
- Carry out assembly, robustness, manufacturability, and cost checks.
- Coordinate with Production and Workshop teams to support assembly and solve problems.
- Support testing, commissioning, and technical validation of designed machinery.
- Ensure compliance with CE regulations, the Machinery Directive, and safety standards.
- Contribute to new technical solutions and product improvement together with the Sales Department.
- Manage technical changes, design revisions, and documentation updates.

Professional requirements
Education
Degree or technical diploma, preferably in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or industrial disciplines.
Experience
At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design of automatic machinery or complex plants. Experience in packaging, material handling, automation, or special machinery is preferred.
Technical skills
- Excellent knowledge of 3D and 2D CAD, including SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent systems.
- Ability to perform structural analysis and size mechanical components.
- Familiarity with bills of materials, mechanical manufacturing, and production technologies.
- Basic skills in pneumatics and servo-mechanical handling.
- Knowledge of the Machinery Directive and applicable safety standards.
- Technical problem-solving ability during assembly and testing.

Salary range: EUR 35,000 – 45,000 gross annual salary. Compensation and benefits are defined according to seniority, skills, and responsibilities assessed during the selection process.
